Sydney’s Open for Lunch invites everyone to take a seat at one of our delicious long lunches across the city on Friday December 3. The event welcomes guests to reconnect socially, taste innovative food from top chefs, listen to live music and soak up our incredible Sydney vibe.
There are various luncheon events planned across several precincts in Sydney CBD, South Eveleigh, Parramatta, Chinatown and Barangaroo. The unmissable event will give a much-needed boost to Sydney’s hospitality industry and inspire everyone to rediscover Sydney’s favourite spaces. Parramatta Square’s Long Lunch | Friday 3 December 12-3pm
In Western Sydney’s newest foodie precinct, Parramatta Square, Sydney’s Open for Lunch will host a unique food and music mash up. With a soundscape of chilled out grooves, guests will be treated to a three-course lunch from one of three partnering restaurants: CicciaBella, LILYMU or Ruse Bar & Brasserie.
What’s on the menu? Choose three courses from Italian trattoria CicciaBella; European-inspired grill Ruse Bar & Brasserie; or modern Asian fusion from LILYMU. Soft drinks are included in the ticket price, with alcohol available for purchase.
Entertainment: Settle in for a smooth soundscape of chilled beats from renowned indie, RnB collective Winston Surfshirt (DJ set), genre defining RnB star Milan Ring and soulful RnB hip-hop artist Nardean.

In the lively laneways off York, Clarence and Kent Streets, a.k.a. YCK Laneways, settle in for a long lunch among some of the sweetest small bars in the city as part of the inaugural event series Long Lunches & Late Nights @ YCK. The unmissable, signature event is Prince of York’s Long Lunch at Barrack Street with 11 modern Australian dishes with a Japanese influence. Settle in for this innovative lunch with a cocktail in hand and listen to live performances of fresh new sounds.
What’s on the menu? This progressive dining experience has a selection of Japanese-influenced Australian dishes, each designed to be shared between four people. Expect to dig into fresh bread with miso and yuzu butter, coral trout sashimi, wagyu sirloin with wasabi, and salted miso caramel chocolate tart.
Entertainment: There’s a huge variety of performances at YCK throughout this event series. Spawn Point will host a micro dance party with some of the best DJs in Sydney. At Stitch, the lively Mariachi band will be on stage, and over at Swinging Cat, listen to the five-piece jazz band The Sazeracs, from 6-10pm. The Lobo will pump out the sounds of the Caribbean, Grandma’s Bar will welcome local soloist Dom Diaz, while Uncle Ming’s will have their resident blues duo.

Don’t miss this one-of-a-kind culinary adventure as Sydney’s Open for Lunch takes over George Street in the heart of the city. Guest will enjoy a welcome drink then be seated at an Insta-worthy long table to tuck into a collaborative menu devised by Sydney food heroes, Luke Mangan (Hilton’s Glass Brasserie); Mike McEnearney (Kitchen by Mike); Palisa Anderson (Chat Thai); and Mikey Nicolian (Continental Delicatessen).
What’s on the menu? Start with a charcuterie board from Porteño, a main devised by Palisa Anderson and Mike McEnearney with fresh ingredients from Palisa’s Boon Luck Farm, and finish with a decadent dessert designed by Luke Mangan.
Entertainment: The George Street line up boasts the George Ellis 24-piece orchestra featuring Josh Pyke, George Maple, Brendan Maclean and Liyah Knight; along with DJ Klevakutz; the 16-piece Hot Potato Brass Brand; and a surprise guest.

Two of Sydney’s defining forces in dining and drinking, Kylie Kwong (Lucky Kwong) and Matt Whiley (Re Bar) will join forces to deliver a tempting combination of nourishing noodles and signature cocktails for both lunch and dinner. South Eveleigh is thrilled to invite locals, food lovers and visitors back after months of lockdown.

It’s not an action movie without a car chase, and while you can’t speed through the CBD streets like Ryan Gosling and Jean Claude, you can still challenge your friends to race via go kart at Hyper Karting Moore Park. At the 410-metre indoor track, the electric cars offer plenty of exhilarating straights and corners, with a high-speed function to help you overtake your mates. True petrol heads should make a pitstop at Luddenham Raceway in southwest Sydney, where the go karts are fuelled and the 600m outdoor pro circuit offers 12 high-speed corners and even nighttime drives. Have an adventure up high
A high-stakes, sky-high chopper scene is an action flick essential; recreate the experience (minus the stress) on a flight with Sydney HeliTours. The 20- or 30-minute tours take in jaw-dropping views of harbour icons like the Sydney Opera House, Taronga Zoo, Bondi Beach and the Sydney Harbour Bridge. Or live out your Hollywood star dreams onboard the luxury Sydney Seaplanes. Scale walls and cliffs
Action heroes need to be agile and spider-like; flex your skills scaling rock walls at one of Sydney’s top indoor rock-climbing centres. Climb Fit in St Leonards has beginner and high-tech climbs using augmented reality, while Ledge is a smaller centre in Camperdown perfect for beginners, and BlocHaus in Marrickville focuses solely on bouldering. If you prefer to climb surrounded by waterfalls and forests, make the extra leap to the Blue Mountains, and challenge yourself on an abseil or rock-climb under the expert guidance of the Blue Mountains Adventure Company.
Spots to refuel
After all that adventuring, you’re going to need a spot to refuel and cheers to a big day. Make it a meal with a view at Aster Bar on top of the InterContinental Sydney – with uninterrupted views of the harbour. The rooftop bar featured in the film is the Ivy – which is a local favourite for big nights out. Partake in Ryan Gosling and Emily Blunt’s love for spicy margaritas at Centro 86, a new underground tequila bar in the CBD, or taste award-winning cocktails at Dean and Nancy on 22. Finish up with a feast at one of the restaurants located around Jones Bay Wharf (you’ll spot this area in the film as Ryan Gosling hides on his boat from the bad guys) or snack in the late-night dining havens in Chinatown: try Japanese izakaya Nakano Darling, xiao long bao from Nanjing Dumpling or Mamak’s legendary roti.
Rest your head
Even heroes need their beauty sleep. Rest up like an A-lister at the Kimpton Margot, a recently opened CBD hotel with Art Deco touches, and featured in the movie (ask Kevin for the fruit plate). Compact yet comfortable, the Little National Hotel is located in the heart of the city near Wynyard (also a major filming locale for The Fall Guy).
