A Newcastle First  
Crystalbrook Kingsley is Newcastle’s first five-star hotel, located in the elegant Roundhouse building. The rooftop bar and restaurant boast 360-degree views of the city and is decorated with fully-grown olive trees. Sustainably minded guests will appreciate the waste-free bathroom and complete absence of single-use plastic.  
 
Design lover’s dream 
Mister Munro is a beautifully renovated 1800s Victorian terrace in Crookwell, in the Southern Tablelands. Furnished in a modern country style, with toffee-coloured velvet armchairs, a well-appointed forest-green kitchen, tasteful art and an outdoor firepit, it’s the perfect getaway for design-loving travellers.

A botanical wonderland 
Gin connoisseurs will be thrilled with The Rocks’ newest bar, Frank Mac’s, opening this month. More than 80 styles of gin from around the world will be put to good use in the inventive cocktail list. The location is perfect for winter with a cosy fireplace and intimate rear courtyard in the beautifully repurposed heritage building.  
 
Long lunch at the House  
The Sydney Opera House has launched an unforgettable five-course long lunch throughout its venues. Taste of the House offers cocktail-shaking at Opera Bar, along with a seafood tasting plate; salumi sampling and poke bowl building at Opera Kitchen; mains at Portside Sydney; and the Chocolate Crackle dessert at Bennelong to finish.  
 
Have a whale of a time  
The South Coast will get a taste of Sydney hospitality, with Merivale purchasing The Whale Inn, a boutique hotel and restaurant in Narooma. The restaurant has been refreshed, with more significant refurbishment plans to be announced in the coming months.

Discover coastal wilderness 
The new Wharf to Wharf Walk between Merimbula and Tathra on the Sapphire Coast launched in June. Made possible by a visionary group of locals, the walk covers 27 kilometres of rugged cliffs, secluded bays and quiet beaches. Plus, it has some of the best whale-watching vantage points in the state.  
 
A night walk under the stars  
Stargazing has risen to the next level at Light up the Night until July 11 at Scenic World. Night walkers can admire the glowing Three Sisters, continue on to the Katoomba Falls Night-Lit walk, and take a return trip on the Disco Skyway with music curated by Hermitude.  
 
An apple a day  
Famous for its apples and crisp, sunny winter days, the best way to explore the Bilpin area is by following the new Apple Pie Trail. The route traverses Bells Line of Road, stopping in at 11 outlets serving pie, as well as fruit picking, local cider and gorgeous gardens.  
 
Paint the World in colour 
World Square in Sydney’s CBD has undergone a technicolour makeover as part of the new installation ‘A World of Colour’. Pop art-style murals, floor decals and suspended ornaments adorn every entrance, including a bold statement piece made of thousands of pieces of recycled fabric woven together.

Winter Jazz Festival | Sydney

The city will come alive with the sounds of gypsy swing and jazz-inspired soul, as the Winter Jazz Festival fills our laneways, clubs and cellars with live music, with free performances in Gateway Sydney in Circular Quay.  
 
Come From Away | Capitol Theatre, Sydney 
Now until 22 August  
On stage now at Sydney’s Capitol Theatre, The Tony® and Olivier award-winning musical Come From Away tells the remarkable true story of thousands of stranded passengers and the small town in Newfoundland, Canada that welcomed them all.  
 
Bathurst Winter Festival | Bathurst   
Now until 11 July   
This 16-day family friendly event showcases the best of Bathurst with stunning light shows, boutique food events with local wines and craft ales, outdoor ice skating, carnival rides in the Winter Playground, live music and more.  

Elephant Trail Race | Port Macquarie 
9-11 July  
The Elephant Trail Race offers participants a choice of distances, catering for both novice runners and ultra-distance runners, as well as a free kids’ race, in the beautiful Cairncross State Forest in the Hastings Area.  
 
Vivid Sydney | Across Sydney  
6-28 August   
Australia’s biggest and brightest festival of its kind, Vivid Sydney is back for its 12th year 6-28 August 2021, illuminating the CBD with an outdoor gallery of contemporary light installations and 3D art, a cutting-edge line-up of live music acts, as well as engaging conversations and inspiring talks with renowned thought leaders. 
 
The Phantom of the Opera | Sydney Opera House  
3 September-29 October  
Be enchanted by The Phantom of the Opera in Sydney Opera House, coming to Joan Sutherland Theatre in September. Cameron Mackintosh’s new production of Andrew Lloyd Webber’s classic tale unfolds with new direction by Laurence Connor, as well as new scenic and lighting design.  
 
Write Around the Murray | Albury Wodonga  
15-19 September    
This five-day writers festival brings lovers of the written word together in Albury Wodonga for a festival of storytelling unlike anywhere else. The full program launches 30 July.  
 
Jagged Little Pill | Theatre Royal Sydney  
From September 23 
Tickets are now on sale for the Tony Award®-nominated Broadway rock musical, Jagged Little Pill, coming to Theatre Royal Sydney in September. Relive Alanis Morissette’s epic 1995 album and immerse yourself in 21st century America and beloved hits such as You Oughta Know and Ironic.   
 
Rodgers & Hammerstein’s Cinderella | Capitol Theatre, Sydney

Rodgers & Hammerstein’s Cinderella is the Tony Award®-winning Broadway musical bringing a contemporary take on the classic tale to Sydney audiences this November. Featuring incredible orchestrations, jaw-dropping transformations plus beautiful costumes, this romantic production is a must-watch.  

Australia Sail Grand Prix | Sydney Harbour
