Copper City Hotel in Cobar Reopens

Roadtrippers and locals in Cobar now have a new watering hole with the re-opening of the hotel at Copper City Motel, owned by Outback NSW tourism business, Out of the Ordinary Outback.

The stylish bar and bistro closed in November, 2019, for renovations but travel restrictions caused by Covid-19 delayed its re-opening until now. The adjacent 30-room Copper City Motel has remained open throughout Covid.

The re-tailored bar and bistro, with outdoor alfresco deck, at Copper City will offer a new dinner and evening pizza menu designed by a new chef and is also available for birthday, wedding, work and Christmas parties and other events such as meetings.

Out of the Ordinary Outback owner, Scott Smith, said the Copper City Hotel offered a dynamic, new-look social hub for Cobar and the region, with the hotel offering a hearty serve of genuine country hospitality.

“We’re excited the Copper City Hotel is once again open for business as a fun, friendly, relaxed and affordable venue where locals in Cobar – and visitors - can come together to unwind, drink, dine and enjoy parties and other functions. We’re committed to the tourism and hospitality industry in Cobar and look forward to working with the local community to grow the appeal of not only the hotel but the appeal of Cobar as a place to live in and visit.”

The hotel’s new menu features palate-pleasing favourites such as wedges with sour cream and sweet chilli, scotch steaks, chicken parmigiana, beer-battered barramundi, beef lasagne, lamp shanks and pizzas. Discounted drinks are available during happy hour from 5-6pm each day.

The Copper City Hotel in Lewis St, Cobar, just off the Barrier Highway, is open from 5 pm daily.
