ELEVATE Sydney brings celebrations to new heights

Sydney, 21 December 2022 -- ELEVATE Sydney 2023 is going big, today announcing a 600-drone SkyShow and a 127-metre long bar, adding even more excitement to the festivities on the Cahill Expressway from 3-7 January 2023.

Building on the success and popularity of last year’s drone SkyShow, ELEVATE Sydney will fill the skies above Sydney Harbour for the dazzling light display.  With the theme of “exploring place,” the SkyShow will take viewers on an underwater journey of Sydney Harbour with stunning drone formations that will light up the sky in a choreographed performance.

Every evening of the festival will close with the SkyShow at approximately 10:30 pm, pending weather conditions, with those on the festival site on the Cahill Expressway above Circular Quay having the ultimate view of the show.

ELEVATE Sydney 2023 will also introduce an impressive Long Bar, which will stretch 127 metres along the Cahill Expressway. Open 4-7 January 2023 during ELEVATE Social in the afternoons and ELEVATE Nights, the Long Bar will welcome 200 guests at each session who will be able to drink in the views of Sydney Harbour from this unique vantage point while also enjoying the very best of NSW food and wine.

Tickets to ELEVATE are free with the option to add a Long Bar food and beverage package for $50 per person for this unique Sydney-only experience. Along with a seat at the Long Bar, ticket-holders with the food and beverage package will be treated to a glass of NSW wine or beer, served with a grazing selection featuring the finest in NSW produce. Each seating at the Long Bar will run for 60 minutes, and Long Bar ticket-holders are welcome to enjoy the rest of the ELEVATE Sydney festival site and mainstage entertainment before or after their Long Bar experience.

Minister for Tourism Ben Franklin said ELEVATE Sydney would give Sydneysiders and visitors an opportunity to celebrate the city’s vibrancy and usher in 2023 with a huge party.

“ELEVATE Sydney will kick off the new year in a magical setting, with incredible views of our harbour and a talented line-up of Aussie entertainment, including a jaw dropping drone show,” Mr Franklin said.

“Visitors and locals can look forward to family friendly events, chilled out afternoon DJ sessions and high energy performances by renowned artists as the sun sets and into the night.

“Bring your family, bring your friends, select a session that works for you and join the party as we celebrate Summer in Sydney and living in or visiting the best city in the world!”.

CEO and Creative Director of AGB Events Anthony Bastic said the Long Bar and the ELEVATE Sydney SkyShow would illustrate the creativity, vision and innovation that thrives in our city.

“The Long Bar and the SkyShow will be incredible sights to behold and we are extremely proud to invite the world to witness Sydney at our best,” Mr Bastic said.

Bookings for Long Bar tickets will open Thursday, 22 December at 10:00 am.
