Stay NSW Vouchers to encourage NSW Staycations
From today, NSW residents are eligible for a $50 accommodation voucher to use across the state as part of the NSW Government’s $250 million Stay NSW program.
Applications for the vouchers will be made available by Local Government Area in a staggered approach, with every community given access by 3 March 2022.
Minister for Tourism Stuart Ayres said this initiative would provide a great opportunity for NSW residents to experience the tourism offering of their home state.
“The Stay NSW voucher is a fantastic incentive for NSW residents to get out and explore the incredible cultural and natural wonders of their home state or even experience what it’s like to be a tourist in Sydney with a staycation in one of the world’s great CBDs,” Mr Ayres said.
“The NSW Government is committed to supporting our accommodation providers, who have experienced consecutive years of hardship with natural disasters and the pandemic. This initiative will provide a much-needed boost to the sector as we continue on our roadmap to recovery.”
Minister for Customer Service and Digital Government Victor Dominello said the state-wide rollout of the program was easily accessible following a successful pilot in the Sydney CBD.
“Applying is fast and simple via the Service NSW mobile app, through the Service NSW website or by calling 13 77 88 for assistance,” Mr Dominello said.
“People can pool the $50 Stay NSW Vouchers with relatives or mates, with no redemption limit. Apply as soon as you can so you can check-in somewhere special and check-out somewhere new.”
There are more than 1,200 Stay NSW businesses registered across the state but it is not too late for accommodation premises to get on board. With Stay NSW Vouchers valid until 9 October, 2022, accommodation providers across NSW are encouraged to register their business on the Service NSW website.
Participating businesses will be able to redeem vouchers seven days a week, including public holidays. Customers will be able to search for places to stay on the easy-to-use business finder.
