Sydney Comedy Festival announces full program for 2025
The Sydney Comedy Festival is thrilled to announce the full 2025 line-up, including exciting new Festival events, its biggest ever program with more than 350 artists for its 20th anniversary, on from 21st April to 18th May.
In a Sydney exclusive and the Festival’s inaugural ‘One Night Stand’ Daniel Sloss will be performing at the Sydney Opera House for one night only on 24th April, marking the beginning of annual Sydney exclusive shows.
Also, for the first time ever, the Sydney Comedy Festival Comedy Crawl comes to life – based in the YCK precinct in the CBD, take a chance on a surprise lineup in surprise venues, moving from bar to bar for each comedy set.
Another Festival first is Break Out, a new mentorship program where the Sydney Comedy Festival will host four emerging comedians to workshop new material with the support of industry experts. This year’s Break Out artists include Alan Fang, Frankie Rowsthorn, Toby Berowne and Stella Wu.
Adding to the throng of local heroes is:
• Legend of the Australian comedy scene, RuPaul’s Drag Race Down Under’s Rhys Nicholson
• Brown Women Comedy’s award-winning line-up of Indian & South Asian Australian comics
• Viral Filipino-Australian podcasters The Cheatcoders
• Mexican-Australian comedic wrestlers Lucha Fantastica
International icons appearing in the 2025 Festival include:
• Brazilian comedian, actor, and writer Fábio Rabin performing in Portuguese
• Three of Malaysia’s best stand-up comedians Kavin Jay, Rizal Van Geyzal, and Papi Zak, in Malaysian Comedy All Stars
Audiences can also expect the return of Sydney’s longest running comedy extravaganza, Theatresports™ All Stars at the Enmore Theatre, featuring improv royalty alongside Australia’s freshest new talent.
This adds to colossal list of big names appearing in the Festival, including Guy Montgomery, Jimeoin, Arj Barker, Melanie Bracewell, Nazeem Hussain, Becky Lucas, Joel Creasey, Rhys Darby, Steph Broadbridge in Breaking the Musical and many more.

Minister for the Arts, Jobs and Tourism, John Graham said, “From humble origins 20 years ago, the Sydney Comedy Festival has become a big highlight in our city's calendar which is why we’re now backing it with event funding from Destination NSW. Our government has been working hard to rebuild our nightlife after a decade of lockouts and
lockdowns, which unfortunately were no joke. Stand-up comedy is a really important part of the mix and this year’s stellar program is going to bring an enormous amount of fun to our city.”
